Toni Roberts, Rippey Librarian from Oct. 2005 to Sept. 2012

Jefferson Herald, September 13, 2012

Toni Roberts, who is the director at the Rippey Public Library, is retiring, effective Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012.    She has served as the library director since October 2005.  She was encouraged to take the important leadership position by both good friends and library board members, Velda DeMoss and Jean Borgeson.

Though Roberts felt overwhelmed as she began her duties, she has served the Rippey community well.  When asked what she enjoyed best about these seven years, she said, “Working with people, connecting with older residents as well as meeting new and younger residents.”  She loves to read and has been always interested in what patrons find enjoyable to read.

Throughout these seven years she has encouraged young and old to read.  She has learned a great deal, most recently having completed Public Library Management I and II.

As Roberts nears her library director retirement, she feels she will miss the contact with people the most.

‘We want to thank Toni Roberts for her seven year commitment as the Rippey Public Library director.  Her last day at the library will be Wednesday, September 19.  Please share with her your thanks for her leadership,” a library spokesperson said.

Assistant director Sarah Killgore will act as the interim librarian until another director is selected.
