Rippey, Iowa Baseball Field Major Repairs Begin July, 1996

Rippey, Iowa baseball grandstand was repaired and painted after the season was completed in July, 1996. Donations from organizations, fans and community helped fund the project.

 Major repair on the baseball grandstand at the Rippey ball park will begin after the season in completed in July. The funds for project are coming from interested alumni and fans. Organizations that have contributed to the fund include Rippey Lions, Rippey Alumni Assn., Rippey Commercial Club, American Legion Post along with both banks and the Co-op. The repair fund will need additional funds for other projects at the ball park. A bid from Robert Brown of Rippey was accepted for repair work and the labor for painting the grandstand will be donated by Andy Kaufman of Perry.

The painting at the Rippey ball park has been completed. The labor for the painting was donated by Andy Kaufman and earlier repairs for the grandstand was-contracted to Bob Brown. Work is now being done on the pitching mound. Donations for further improvements at the Ball Field are being accepted at Rippey Savings Bank and Peoples Trust and Savings Bank in Rippey. The Ralph Borgeson family, knowing Ralph's, interest in playing baseball during' his high school years, have placed memorial money in his named in the renovation fund.
