 Rippey--The question of incorporating our town is again being agitated quite vigorously. It should

Not prove a failure, this time; let our citizens bestir themselves to the necessity of a move of this sort. There is not another town In Iowa the size of Rippey that is not Incorporated.

1896 a petition was filed at the March term of the District Court of Greene County tor incorporation.

NOTICE OF INCORPORATION.

In the matter of the Incorporation of New Rippey, in Greene County, State of Iowa.  

In District Court. State of Iowa, Greene County, ss.

   Notice is hereby given that the commissioners appointed by the District Court of the state of Iowa, in and for Greene County, in the above entitled proceeding, on the 10th day of March, 1896, for the. purpose of calling an election of the qualified electors residing within the limits of the following described territory, to-wit: The east half of the southeast quarter of section three (3); The east half of the northeast quarter of section ten (10); The northwest quarter of section eleven (11) and the southwest quarter of section two (2), (Including platted portion of the town of New Rippey, Iowa, as shown by recorded plat thereof in the office of the recorder of Greene county, Iowa); and the west half of the southwest quarter of section eleven (11), all in township eighty-two (82). Range twenty-nine (29), west 5th p m. Iowa, to vote upon the question of the incorporation of said described territory, to be known and designated as New Rippey, did on the 14th day of April, 1896, after posting notice thereof as required by law, hold said election, and have duly filed a return thereof in my office, from which return it appears that at said election there were eighty-two ballots cast, or which there were fifty-six ballots cast for incorporation, and twenty-six ballots cast against incorporation: and whereas there being a majority of said ballots cast for incorporation:

Therefore I, S. S. Rutter, Clerk of the District Court, of the state of Iowa, in and for Greene county, do hereby certify and give notice of said results, as aforesaid, and I hereby designate, and classify said described territory, as an incorporated town to be known I as the town of New Rippey in Greene County, Iowa.  Signed by my hand and the seal of the District Court in Jefferson, in Greene county, Iowa, on this 20th day of March, 1896.
