Rippey Public Library Severe Weather Policy, Approved March 26, 2018

Rippey Library Severe Weather Policy Approved March 26, 2018 at the regular meeting of the Rippey Library Board of Trustees.

RIPPEY PUBLIC LIBRARY

POLICY REGARDING SEVERE WEATHER-TORNADO WARNING 

Bottles of water, a battery-operated radio, and two flashlights shall be stored in a bin in the Women’s bathroom for emergencies.

 Upon receiving notice of Severe Weather or Tornado Warning, the Director or her designee notifies all library patrons present to seek shelter in the Women’s bathroom.  All books, papers, and other nonessentials will be left in the Library. 

The Director or her designee will ascertain that all patrons have sought shelter in the Women’s bathroom.   Then the Director or her designee will also seek shelter.

The Director or her designee will notify all patrons when the “All Clear” occurs and the warning has been canceled.
