Jake Peters, Rippey, IA Selected Greene County's Outstanding Senior Citizen, May, 1979

Jake Peters of Rippey, was named Outstanding Senior Citizen of Greene County for 1979 by the North Central Iowa Area Agency on Aging. One individual was recognized for each of the 20 counties served by the agency.

Jake Peters of Rippey, has been named Outstanding Senior Citizen of Greene County for 1979 by the North Central Iowa Area Agency on Aging. One individual is being so recognized for each of the 20 counties served by the agency. Peters then competed with the other Area XII county winners; for the overall Area Outstanding' Senior Citizen. He will be honored at the Area XII Senior Day on June 5 at Carroll High School in Carroll. Selection of county and area Outstanding Senior Citizens is based on service to senior citizens and to the community in general.

Peters is an active member of; the Greene county advisory committee on aging as well as the state advisory committee on aging. He was instrumental in; establishing the Rippey fellowship meals and is on the, Rippey senior citizen board of homes. He is a past president of the Rippey Lions Club and a past master in the Rippey Masonic Lodge.
