Rippey Elmo Masonic Lodge #465 Honors Veterans Tuesday, April 7, 1946

The members of Elmo Lodge #465 of Rippey, Iowa hosted a banquet to honor the returned servicemen from the Rippey Locality.

Elmo Masonic lodge of Rippey was host at a banquet Tuesday evening at the Masonic hall honoring returned servicemen of the army, navy and marines from this locality.

Supper was served in the dining room at 7.30 by the women of the Eastern Star. Covers were laid for 80, at tables decorated in national colors. Following the supper the group retired to the lodge room where a program was given with Lester High master of ceremonies.

Address of welcome, Paul Holmes; solo, Donna Groves; cornet trio, David and Philip Crumley, and Dale Neese, vocal solo, Donald Grow. Musical numbers were accompanied by Mrs. Bonnie Anderson at the piano.

A roll call of servicemen was answered by 37 and as the names of those who paid the supreme sacrifice were read by I J Burk, the group stood in silent respect.

The Rev J H. Krenmyre gave a short talk and after a guitar duet by Wilton Killam and Errol Wilson, the program was closed with the singing of America. The remainder of the evening was spent visiting and playing games.
